What Are CUET Domain Subjects?
Domain subjects in CUET are the academic subjects you studied in Class 11 and 12. The CUET domain syllabus is based entirely on the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12. You can choose domain subjects that match your Class 12 board exam subjects.

How Many Domain Subjects to Choose?
Since CUET allows a maximum of 5 subjects:
- English (Core) — 1 subject
- General Aptitude Test (GT) — 1 subject (recommended)
- Domain subjects — up to 3 subjects matching your Class 12
Choose 2-3 domain subjects that you studied in Class 12 and are strongest in. Don't choose extra domain subjects just because you can — focus on quality over quantity.
Important: While you can choose up to 5 subjects, university admission is based on your best CUET subject scores. Focus your effort on excelling in your chosen subjects rather than appearing for all possible papers.
Preparing Domain Subjects for CUET
- Complete NCERT textbooks first — Both Class 11 and 12. CUET questions are directly based on NCERT.
- Create chapter-wise notes — One-page summary per chapter with key formulas and points.
- Solve NCERT examples and exercises — These form the foundation of CUET questions.
- Practice CUET-style questions — After NCERT, solve CUET-specific practice sets.
- Revise and mock test — Take domain-specific mock tests regularly.
