What is CUET General Test (GT)?

The CUET General Aptitude Test (Subject Code: 501) is one of the most important sections of CUET. It tests analytical and problem-solving skills through five broad areas:

• General Knowledge (GK) — Static GK: History, Geography, Polity, Science, Economy, Awards, Sports
• Current Affairs — National and international events of the last 1–2 years
• General Mental Ability — Puzzles, patterns, series, analogies, coding-decoding
• Numerical Ability — Basic arithmetic, percentage, ratio, profit-loss, time-work, speed-distance
• Quantitative Reasoning — Simple algebra, geometry, mensuration, statistics
• Logical and Analytical Reasoning — Seating arrangement, direction, blood relations, critical reasoning

CUET GT has 50 questions to be solved in 60 minutes with +5/-1 marking.

How to Prepare for CUET General Test

1. Current Affairs (Daily Habit): Read a newspaper daily (The Hindu/Indian Express preferred) and note important events. Use a monthly current affairs magazine.
2. Static GK (Weekly): Revise static GK topics weekly using a reliable book like Lucent GK or Manorama Yearbook.
3. Reasoning (Daily): Solve 10-15 reasoning problems daily. Focus on speed and accuracy.
4. Quant (Daily): Practice 10-15 quantitative problems daily, focusing on calculation speed.
5. Mock Tests (Weekly): Take at least 1 full-length GT mock test weekly in the first 2 months, then 2-3 per week in the final month.
6. Error Review: Maintain an error log and review mistakes weekly.
